Overview
Cumberland Building Society (CBS) was established over 150 years ago and is the 10th largest building society across the UK. With a huge customer base and existing website, they required updates and improvements to their Mortgage Calculator tool from both design and functional standpoints.highlighting their wider and higher quality product catalogue and branded/themed ranges.

In the discovery stage, it became apparent that the tool needed to accommodate 4 different user types: First Time Buyers, people moving home, those looking to remortgage, and holiday lets owners. As such, 4 distinct user journeys were created (with comment UI styles and processes) to cater for any kind of visitor.

Fully integrated and CMS managed
Working within the framework of the existing website, the tool was a largely standalone piece to be integrated into the current site. Due to its very nature as a Mortgage Calculator, it was also a highly project that involved working closely with CBS’ technical, mortgages, and testing teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and usability.
