The Boot Repair Company handles orders from several premium international brands, as well as direct orders through their websites. They needed an efficient system to track these orders from receipt, through each stage of the repair process, with the ability to add feedback as needed, and ultimately dispatch the completed repairs.
Understanding the work flows to advise on the solution
Before developing a digital solution, we took the time to shadow employees in various roles across the company to fully understand their current systems and workflows. This gave us valuable insight into their frustrations and challenges, and helped us define what our solution needed to address.

The Boot Repair Company Warehouse Management System is an end-to-end integrated system for tracking repair jobs throughout the lifetime of their repair journey. It integrates with the Intact iQ ERP platform to synchronise orders placed on multiple Shopify storefronts.
When a repair job arrives at the warehouse, it’s registered in the system, and a unique barcode label is generated for each item. This label is then attached to the item and can be scanned in and out of departments, allowing for easy tracking and retrieval of the item's complete history at any time.
Upon completion of a repair, the system automatically generates courier shipping labels for dispatch, sending the item back to the customer. Key features of the system also include an admin panel for full customization, enabling users to manage various elements such as brands, styles, colours, sizes, departments, and even add new locations or warehouses. Additionally, the system provides dashboards for each department, showing real-time information on the items in each department, along with high-level statistics to help track progress and performance..
